In Australia, a standard car licence (Class C) covers vehicles up to 4.5 t Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). Vehicles with GVM above this require a Light Rigid (LR) licence (for rigid trucks up to 8 t) or a Medium Rigid (MR) licence for heavier rigid trucks.
